The touch screen on your Creality 3D printer is your primary interface for control, monitoring, and configuration. Proper maintenance, including firmware updates, troubleshooting unresponsive displays, and physical replacement ensures reliable operation. A critical consideration is that touch screen firmware must typically be updated separately from the mainboard firmware to maintain compatibility . This guide covers essential procedures for keeping your Creality touch screen functional for Ender 3.
All machines with touchscreens require the installation of the touch screen DW firmware. Do not update the firmware on your unit without updating the screen firmware as well. The screen and mainboard communicate through a specific protocol, and mismatched versions can cause functionality issues.
Firmware Update: Please see below attached zip file for firmware for touch screen and mainboard.
Please make sure you select the correct firmware for you Creality mainboard (4.2.2 or 4.2.7).
Ensure SD Card is formatted correctly (FAT32) and best to backup and use blank SD Card with just the firmware bin file.
