Filament Moisture
To ensure the filament print reliable, PC CF can be tricky depending on the condition of the filament. If it too wet and too dry it cause print issues.
Wet | Good Condition | Too Dry | |
Issue | If you notice light grey and stringy from test print. | The filament have minimal stringy but still have some flex in filament when straighten filament and does not snap | If you notice filament is brittle and filament snap when you try straighten filament to feed into extruder/filament sensor |
Solution | Dry the filament 70c for 8-12 hours [More Info: Filament Drying Guide] If drying above 70c, please print the filament clamp or re-spool onto metal spool. | None, but to prevent the filament to become wet or too dry, please print from dry box. If you're printing from dryer running, turn to the lowest temperature setting to keep ambient condition the same. | Leave the filament out in open for a ~60mins (depending on your room humidity level you may want check filament every 10-20 mins) |

General Tips:
- Reduce acceleration speed to prevent the filament to snapping within reverse bowden
- Avoid tight radius/turn in the PTFE run from the spool to the extruder. (This is common with more core X/Y where the filament path can be quite restrictive at top of toolhead/extruder, for most popular printer there is community mount to decrease the PTFE bend radius into toolhead (https://www.printables.com/search/models?q=ptfe+guide))
- Avoid Z-Hop when possible or stick with lower amount (this reduce stringy/blobs).
- Hotter the chamber temperature for stronger prints.
- Low fixed part cooling for constant better surface quality [Test print with part cooling]
- No Fan for better functional part, but may notice poorer overhang/bridging performance and surface quality. A low fixed part cooling fan if chamber is hot enough, if the chamber is low it may cause part warping from build plate, or layer cracking.
- If you have bed adhesion issue, suggest adding brims or using build adhesion solution such as Magigoo PC or Nano Polymer
