As the customer, you're considered an importer and must pay for any additional fees that are incurred through customs. We don't have any influence on these fees and are not able to predict what they will cost in advance.
What happens if I refuse to pay the import fee?
If you refuse to pay the import fee for your order, it will be returned to the sender or destroyed, and you will be liable for the return shipping cost as well as any charges that DREMC incurs with this package.
If you wish for your package to be resent, you will also need to pay the reshipment cost and return shipping cost or if item is destroyed you would need pay for complete order again. For low value order, we may opt for item to be destroy instead of returned to the sender.
How much will I be charged for the import?
You will need to contact your local authority for further details. They will be able to provide you with the relevant information for importing to your location. If you're unsure, please contact us with country and expected order value/product.
Please Note: Although any estimated provided will provide you with an estimated charge amount, it is in no way a contractual guarantee of what you will be charged. DREMC has no control over these fees, and therefore, they could both increase and decrease at any point.
VAT/Taxes/Duties
You will need to speak to your local authority about how this works in your country as all are different. Some countries are charging the VAT at the point of import which needs to be claimed back by yourself whilst other countries are 0 ratings this. Some country have certain import value limit for personal use, for example New Zealand, as long order total value is less than <$1,000 NZD (More Info: https://www.customs.govt.nz/personal/duty-and-gst/duty-and-allowances/) NZ customs will not collect any duty or taxes, but if the order value is over certain limit you may be charged with duty and taxes. As these import regulation can change regularly depending on country and condition, please always confirm these details beforehand. As for February 1 2025, this may change in future, please double check beforehand to avoid unexpected charges.
Additional charges
You can find information here about additional charges, if applicable (Fedex). Similar DHL may charge additional charges to process the custom clearance depending on your local country regulation. This fee can range from 20-50 USD depending on your country, our recommendation is using AusPost International, as usually fee charges by national carrier is lower in comparison to Fedex/DHL in our experience but can always vary depending on your country.
